‘Werkstatt der Ideen – Skizzen und Zeichnungen aus der Sammlung’ is on view at Kunstmuseum Solothurn from 5 July to 4 October 2026.
Shown in the Graphisches Kabinett, the exhibition brings together many of the museum’s most beautiful works on paper from different periods.
The exhibition gives insight into rich holdings and enables discoveries of ideas and their implementations on paper.
Named examples include sketches by Cuno Amiet, studies by Ferdinand Hodler, master sheets by Albert Anker and works by Meret Oppenheim. The exhibition features works by Cuno Amiet, Albert Anker, Verena Baumann, Ueli Berger, Margrith Diehl, Ruedi Fluri, Giovanni Giacometti, Ferdinand Hodler, Paul Klee, Gérald Minkoff and Muriel Olesen, Victorine Müller, Meret Oppenheim, Alexandre Perrier, Markus Raetz, Mario Sala, Klaudia Schifferle, Roman Signer, George Steinmann, Albert Trachsel, Félix Vallotton and René Zäch.
Anna Bürkli, Tuula Rasmussen and Katrin Steffen curate the exhibition. On 26 September at 4 pm, the collection curator Anna Bürkli and the artist Verena Baumann lead a public tour of ‘Werkstatt der Ideen’, one of the last events before the exhibition closes.
