The Museo Reina Sofía is recalling the republican origin of a pochoir by Joan Miró.
The image depicts a Catalan peasant wearing a barretina and raising a fist.
Miró created the pochoir at the request of Christian Zervos.
It was intended to be issued as a stamp to raise funds for the Republican government during the Spanish Civil War.
The pochoir emerged in the same context in which Miró was making his mural.
