ICP Recognizes Rinko Kawauchi as 2026 Spotlights Honoree

The 2026 Spotlights event is listed for December 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Since 2012, ICP’s annual Spotlights Benefit has celebrated the achievements of women in photography, film, and the visual arts.

Through conversations and discussions on contemporary issues, the luncheon amplifies diverse voices while raising support for ICP’s exhibitions and educational initiatives.

ICP describes Kawauchi as a Japanese photographer celebrated for luminous, poetic images that capture the quiet beauty of everyday life. Working primarily in color, her photographs explore nature, family, memory, and the passage of time through a delicate and contemplative visual language.

Kawauchi studied graphic design before gaining international recognition with her first photobooks, 'Utatane,' 'Hanabi,' and 'Hanako.' She also received ICP’s 2009 Art Infinity Award.
