Aperture’s new home at 380 Columbus Avenue opened on September 18, 2026, with a bookstore and gallery offering a rotation of intimate photography presentations and a dynamic calendar of programming. Its inaugural installation, ‘Aperture Loves New York,’ will remain on view through November 1, 2026.
The presentation pays tribute to photographers who have shaped—and been shaped by—the city.
The participating photographers include Diane Arbus, Lee Friedlander, Nan Goldin, and Carrie Mae Weems, among more than twenty photographers. Showcasing artists long championed by Aperture and anchored in its publishing history, the presentation brings together important and memorable photographs with corresponding Aperture books that have advanced the medium of photography and captured the complex spirit of New York City.
The flagship bookstore stocks seven decades of select Aperture publications.
Aperture describes itself as a nonprofit publisher dedicated to creating insight, community, and understanding through photography since 1952.
