The exhibition presents Wang’s paintings as large-scale ink works, combining depictions of mountains and trees with passages from the Diamond Sutra.
Wang Xin is a painter and seal carver who was born in Xingtai, Hebei province, in 1964, graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1991, and currently lives in Beijing. His biography includes both painting and seal carving, alongside formal study in Chinese painting at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts and his present residence in Beijing.
“When I am deep in contemplation of the pine, the pine becomes a sage. When I transcribe the Diamond Sutra at dawn, the sutra becomes daily life.”
