CCA Galleries is inviting audiences to ‘PAST MASTERS’, described as a new exhibition at The Long Gallery. The exhibition opens on Thursday 24 September from 6–9 pm and remains on view until 24 October at The Long Gallery in Tilford, Surrey.
‘PAST MASTERS’ brings together rare original and printed works by some of the most significant artists represented within the CCA Galleries archive, combining the two forms of work within one exhibition.
The announced artists are Sir Terry Frost, Sandra Blow, Joan Miro, John Hoyland, John Piper, Feliks Topolski, Dame Elisabeth Frink and Donald Hamilton Fraser, whose works are included in the exhibition. The selection spans abstraction, landscape and figurative art, covering each of the three categories named in the announcement.
Among the named works is John Piper’s ‘Wightwick Manor’, made in 1977 and identified as a silkscreen. The exhibition also lists John Hoyland’s ‘Warrior Universe’, a 2010 work identified as a silkscreen. A further named example is Sandra Blow’s ‘Interaction’, dated 2000 and identified as a silkscreen.
