Lawrence Abu Hamdan: Repercussions is scheduled for 26 September 2026 at 19:30. The event is presented as an evening exploring the intersection of technology, testimony and surveillance through sonic and visual experiences. Described as a takeover exploring sonic justice, Repercussions runs from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 September 2026.
Abu Hamdan will present '1000 White Plastic Chairs' (2020), a live audio essay performed in darkness with guitarist Fabio Cervi, drawing on historical accounts of the Nuremberg Trials to reflect on the relationship between technology and testimony. Composer Busher Kanj, from Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights, will present a new work incorporating field recordings, electronics, string quintet and saxophone, performed by Amr Mdah.
French composer and artist Felicia Atkinson will give a performance balancing the human voice against environmental elements and incorporating audio from the Earshot archive. The programme closes with 'Radical Democracy' by James Hoff and Ben Kudler, a journey through global surveillance systems accompanied by an immersive ambient soundtrack.
