The residency is scheduled to run from 14 September 2026 to 21 March 2027.
Clark works across film, installation and performance, focusing on moving image in the expanded field while exploring new modes of exchange, collaboration and dialogue in a global context, with particular interest in the non-aligned histories of the global south.
Clark’s approach to making has been influenced by the philosophies of Japanese farmer Masanobu Fukuoka, with artistic practice and filmmaking understood as a form of permaculture that absorbs the ecologies and rhythms of the local ecosystems around him.
In 2020, Clark co-founded Motherbank in Indonesia as an experiment in redistribution supporting a mothers’ collective and enabling local autonomy to grow community resources in Wates. His project ‘Handle With Care’ (2020–2024) explored ways of articulating memories from the personal to the collective through two distinct archives: the Vietnam Film Institute in Hanoi and the An Viet Archives in Hackney, which Clark helped establish in 2023.
Camden Art Centre’s residency programme has operated for more than 30 years, providing a nurturing and empowering environment for artists to reflect on and develop their practice within a public institution. Residency artists have access to an on-site studio, technical and curatorial support, a public audience and mentoring opportunities.
