Kerstin Brätsch has been named the winner of the 2027 Zurich Art Prize. The award will support a new solo exhibition opening at Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich in June 2027.
In Aspen, Brätsch’s rooftop commission ‘Fossil Psychic Stone Mimicry (Aspen)’ brings mosaic benches, living plants, and an expansive mural into dialogue with the surrounding landscape. The Aspen Art Museum describes the commission as a site-specific presentation that places artworks in dialogue with elements of the natural world.
The installation centers on a new series of four sculptural benches, generated through the artist’s long-standing engagement with traditional craft practices. Designed to change with the seasons—and to be used by visitors—the installation remains on view through March 31, 2027.
