Karolina Breguła’s exhibition ‘Teraz wszystko będzie inaczej’ will open on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at 18:00. The exhibition will be open to the public from 18 September through 25 October 2026. Breguła is also scheduled to lead an author’s tour of the exhibition on Friday, 18 September, at 16:30.
For more than a decade, Breguła has worked on projects in Taiwan, examining the experience of losing home, social and environmental change, and what happens when people lose their sense of control over the reality around them. Her focus extends across the personal experience of displacement and the broader transformations that alter social and environmental conditions.
The works presented in the exhibition were made, among other places, in Taiwanese cities and in the coastal village of Xincuo. They address demolitions and evictions, transformations of the landscape, and the effects of natural forces, while also considering adaptation to new conditions and the ways perspectives change over time. Together, these subjects include changes to inhabited places as well as responses to forces that reshape them.
The calendar identifies mass demolitions, evictions, gentrification and forms of resistance undertaken by people forced to leave their homes as subjects of Breguła’s work. The works share a concern with the experience of losing home and waiting for change. This shared concern places the experience of displacement alongside the anticipation of changed circumstances.
