Tate Britain, in collaboration with Charleston, is organising ‘Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury’, which will run from 12 November 2026 to 11 April 2027.
The exhibition will bring together more than 300 works, including paintings, decorative works on furniture, ceramics and textiles. Its contents also include vivid portraits, still lives and landscape paintings.
A restaging of Bell and Grant’s studio, relocated from their Sussex home, Charleston, will be a major feature of the exhibition. The presentation traces the artists’ creative partnership, which spanned more than 50 years.
The exhibition page highlights Vanessa Bell’s ‘Self-Portrait’, dated circa 1915, and Duncan Grant’s ‘Self-Portrait’, dated circa 1920.
Its related programme includes the talk ‘Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: The Lives of Artists’, which addresses the artists’ experimental approaches to life and their impact on art, literature and societal thought in Britain.
