Gazelli Art House will work with the Foundation to advance international recognition of Lilly Fenichel’s seven-decade career ahead of the artist’s centenary in 2027.
Fenichel’s practice evolved from the gestural language of her early paintings to geometric abstraction, sculpture and experiments with unconventional materials, resisting any singular definition.
Born to a Jewish family, Fenichel fled the Nazi invasion of Austria in 1939 and eventually settled in Hollywood; after transitioning to New Mexico in 1981, she explored geometric abstractions and organic forms.
