Ruth Campau’s ‘COLOR PUSH’ will run from 26 September 2026 to 21 February 2027, with an opening on 25 September.
The exhibition will combine a retrospective presentation, including works from the museum’s collection, with new interventions in the museum’s architecture.
Among the interventions, the museum’s main entrance vestibule will be transformed into an orange diamond that glows in the dark.
The foyer elevator will become a sensory sculptural work that changes how visitors see the world through color.
The retrospective will include Campau’s earliest works, among them her very first painting.
Campau works in an expanded field of painting, painting in rooms and challenging conventional scale.
She often uses a broom rather than a brush to apply long, precise strokes to transparent acrylic sheets, creating installations that both shape and dissolve the spaces around them.
Color is her primary medium, while the stroke itself often functions as the artwork’s content; the resulting expression is both industrial and cool, and sensual and vibrating.
