The sessions take place on 28 and 29 September 2026. The seminar consists of six sessions structured around three essays developed over the course of a year and forms part of Olivier Marboeuf’s year-long research residency, 'The Mutineer and the Witch: Essays on Cultural and Institutional Mediation.'
The programme is conceived as a space for collective discussion, exchange and bricolage around institutional imagination and craft, using mediation to project, deflect, speculate and hallucinate other models and matters of cultural institutionality. It considers alternative visions of site, work organisation, production, artistic practice and the circulation of knowledge while redistributing interpretative and institutional agency.
By bringing together experiences from different territories, the seminar aims to imagine non-extractive institutional forms that promote autonomy and to explore how they might be translated and interpreted in different cultural contexts and economies. An art space may therefore emerge with or without walls: as a temporary gathering, a community of interpretation, a living archive, a mobile infrastructure, a wake, a souffle, a rehearsal or a circulation of stories, tools and obligations.
