The museum’s Odilon Redon collection will be introduced on NHK’s ‘ねこのめ美じゅつかん’ on September 12 from 11:30 to 11:40. The episode, titled ‘What Are Redon’s Eyeballs Looking At?’, focuses on the artist’s recurring use of eyes as a motif.

Two cats engage with Redon’s works while investigating the meaning of the eye imagery, including why the eyes look upward. The programme also links Redon’s eyes to the artistic development of Shigeru Mizuki, the manga artist who created GeGeGe no Kitarō.

The exhibition ‘From the Redon Collection: Fantasy in Black’ is currently being held.
