Museum Zentrum für verfolgte Künste Shows Melnykova’s Walk Documentation, 8 October–8 November 2026

Hanna Melnykova is a Ukrainian photographer. Her project comprises a performative walk from Germany to Ukraine and an artistic engagement with migration, resilience, cultural connection and the current geopolitical landscape.

Melnykova says the project was initially inspired by Marina Abramović’s performance ‘Lovers’ and conceived as a manifesto of love and unity across obstacles, before contemporary conflicts gave the work new meanings. She presents the action as a symbol of unity and solidarity amid ongoing conflict and displacement, intended to encourage empathy and cultural dialogue across borders.

The route represents a line separating nations, as well as the gap between past and future and between personal and collective transformation.
