Serbian conceptual and performance artist widely recognised as one of the most important figures in performance art. Known for works exploring body art, endurance, and the relationship between performer and audience, Abramović founded the Marina Abramović Institute in 2007 to preserve and advance the genre. Her career spanning over five decades includes prestigious recognition such as the 1997 Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale.
