Hannah Ryggen’s work will return in the second cycle of ‘La historia no se repite, pero rima’, an announced presentation that brings it into dialogue with Pablo Picasso and ‘Guernica’.
The pairing directs attention to one of Picasso’s best-known paintings. Created in 1937, ‘Guernica’ is an anti-war work depicting the bombing of Guernica by German and Italian air forces during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso, a Spanish painter and sculptor who spent most of his adult life in France, made the painting during a career that extended for more than seven decades.
The programme’s second cycle names Ryggen’s work, Picasso and ‘Guernica’ as the subjects of its announced dialogue.
