Alex Strada’s public-art project ‘Public Address’ begins in the Bronx on 14 September 2026. A central installation of large signs will be presented at Joyce Kilmer Park, alongside smaller signs in every community board district in the borough.

Developed by Strada, the inaugural Public Artist in Residency with the NYC Department of Homeless Services and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the project presents the perspectives of people living and working in shelters through signage produced by the NYC Department of Transportation. The Bronx Museum is partnering with Storefront for Art and Architecture on the presentation.

An opening celebration, ‘Meet Me At The Park: Public Address’, will take place at Joyce Kilmer Park on 23 September, from 5–7 PM. Project components will also open at The Bronx Museum on 9 October as part of its Fall 2026 Exhibitions Opening Celebration.

‘Public Address’ debuted in Manhattan in 2025 before travelling to Brooklyn. After its Bronx presentation, it will continue to Staten Island, concluding with a presentation in partnership with the Queens Museum at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in March 2027.
