Museum Villa Stuck in Munich has received a previously unknown painting by Franz von Stuck, titled ‘Damenporträt à la japonaise’, as a gift from the Verein zur Förderung der Stiftung Villa Stuck e. V.
The work is on view at Museum Villa Stuck until 20 September 2026. A curator-led exhibition tour focusing on ‘Damenporträt à la japonaise’ is scheduled for 16 September at 5:30pm with Margot Th. Brandlhuber.
The acquisition will also be included in a 20:30 tour during the museum’s Friday Late programme on 4 September. The tour will encompass the historical rooms of Villa Stuck, the special exhibition ‘Ilit Azoulay’, and the newly acquired painting.
Museum Villa Stuck’s Friday Late takes place from 6pm to 10pm, with free admission and free participation in the programme during the evening opening.
