Kateryna Lysovenko’s exhibition ‘Borderland’ runs at MAK Forum in Vienna from 16 September to 18 October 2026. An opening takes place at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) on 15 September at 7 pm, with free admission.
Lysovenko, born in 1989, studied at the Odesa Grekov Art Professional College and the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv. She has lived in Austria since 2022.
The artist received the 2025 Münze Österreich Prize, awarded by the Austrian Mint in the context of viennacontemporary. Her painting is presented as a social action and political medium, using observations, permutations and fragments from daily life. Her practice employs reduction and absence, while treating colour as a resonant space.
