Designmuseum Denmark will hold a MORGENFORMAT morning talk on 30 June with textile and clothing artist Nikoline Liv Andersen, focusing on what it means to protect craft and design processes in a present shaped by AI, acceleration and mass production. The event, titled 'MORGENFORMAT: Det, der tager tid', is set for 8.30-9.30 a.m. in the museum’s café FORMAT in Copenhagen, with doors and the coffee bar opening at 8 a.m.

According to the museum, the conversation will explore how handwork, slowness and time can function as a form of cultural resilience. Andersen’s practice, built around textile and thread, is described by the museum as one that insists on slow and time-consuming techniques. The talk will also examine how materials and process shape meaning in an era where speed and automation increasingly dominate creative production.

Andersen is currently exhibiting in 'Nikoline Liv Andersen: Det evige Smil', which the museum presents as a tribute to craftsmanship and an ongoing exploration of life, modern motherhood and transience. The morning event is framed as a discussion around that exhibition and the broader questions it raises about making, patience and the value of labour in contemporary visual culture.

Writer and art editor Maria Kjær Themsen of Dagbladet Information will take part in the conversation. The museum says the format is intended for early visitors who want to be prepared for both specialist discussion and the kind of design talk that can continue later in the day. Each MORGENFORMAT includes a cup of filter coffee, with additional specialty coffee and breakfast available for purchase in the café.

Admission to the event is free, but advance booking is required and places are limited. The museum notes that tickets cannot be refunded, though they may be passed on to another person. 'MORGENFORMAT: Det, der tager tid' is part of Designmuseum Denmark’s event programme, which also lists the exhibition 'Nikoline Liv Andersen: Det evige Smil' alongside other current and upcoming offerings.

Designmuseum Denmark’s notice situates the talk within a wider summer programme at the museum, but the event itself remains the central focus. The session begins on Tuesday 30 June at 8.30 a.m. and runs until 9.30 a.m. in café FORMAT at Bredgade 68 in Copenhagen.
