Washington, DC multimedia artist Robin Bell will present ‘Projection Warnings,’ a month-long exhibition of new work at Addison/Ripley Fine Art from September 12 through October 17, 2026. The full-gallery activation will bring together video, sound, image, technology, painting and printmaking at the Georgetown gallery, with elements designed to extend beyond the exhibition space and engage passersby.
Bell’s practice moves between fine art, film, public space and political action. He is the founder of Bell Visuals and is described by the gallery as an award-winning editor, video journalist and multimedia artist based in Washington, DC. Trained as a classical printmaker, he has developed a hybrid approach that places digital and time-based media alongside more traditional forms of image-making.
For ‘Projection Warnings,’ Bell is presenting multiple new works and setting art and technology side by side in a range of formats. The gallery says the installation will include outward-facing work, connecting the exhibition to Bell’s history of public projections. One cited example is ‘Pay Trump Bribes Here,’ an intervention projected onto the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC.
The exhibition reflects Bell’s stated interest in using video, sound and image to spark dialogue and advance social change. The gallery also emphasizes the relationship between his technological experiments and painting and printmaking, describing the resulting works as hybrids. Bell’s current Milk Tree studio is presented as a place where community plays an important role in his evolving practice.
Addison/Ripley Fine Art, founded in 1981, is a Georgetown gallery presenting changing exhibitions of contemporary art in all media. The gallery began in a former carriage house in Dupont Circle and also provides art consulting and curatorial services for institutional and corporate clients. ‘Projection Warnings’ is identified as its first exhibition of the fall 2026 season.
The exhibition will open to the public on September 12 at Addison/Ripley Fine Art, 1670 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 4pm. The gallery’s opening reception is scheduled for September 19 from 5 to 7pm, followed by an artist talk on October 10 at 11am and a closing reception on October 17 from 5 to 7pm. Bell will also be on site at the gallery during the September 12 Art All Night program, which runs from 5:30 to 10:30pm and includes music by Tobago Bay from 6 to 8:30pm.
