Museo Jumex to Present Richard Prince Survey 'Cuéntamelo todo'

Museo Jumex in Mexico City will present ‘Richard Prince: Cuéntamelo todo’ from September 26, 2026, through February 7, 2027. The exhibition will be the first major presentation dedicated to the American artist in Latin America and will bring together more than 150 works made from 1976 to the present.

Organized by Museo Jumex, the exhibition will examine several of the best-known bodies of work from Prince’s career, including ‘Cowboys’, ‘Girlfriends’, ‘Jokes’ and ‘Cartoons’. These series, according to the museum, have remained central to the artist’s practice across more than four decades.

The presentation will also place those series within a broader account of Prince’s work. It will include examples from his early ‘Advertising’ and ‘Fashion’ refotographs, as well as paintings from the ‘Nurses’, ‘de Koonings’ and ‘High Times’ series. Works from ‘Hoods’ and other sculptures will extend the survey beyond the artist’s photographic and painterly investigations.

The exhibition is curated by Kit Hammonds, chief curator of Museo Jumex, in collaboration with Richard Prince and Natalia Vargas, an assistant curator. The museum’s announcement describes the project as an in-depth analysis of the artist’s emblematic series, while also connecting them with selected works from different periods of his production.

The exhibition forms part of Museo Jumex’s programme of contemporary art exhibitions and public activities. The museum states that its aim is to produce and co-produce exhibitions and research that introduce diverse audiences to contemporary artistic practice. Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo, the institution behind the museum, was formally established on March 3, 2001, when it presented the first exhibition of the Colección Jumex at Galería Jumex in Ecatepec.

The foundation also maintains a library dedicated to the study and research of modern and contemporary art in Mexico, and supports individuals and institutions involved in the production, research and dissemination of contemporary art. Museo Jumex is located at Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 303 in Colonia Granada, Mexico City. The museum lists free admission, with opening hours of Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 5pm, Saturday from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm; it is closed on Mondays.
