Gunvor Nervold Antonsen’s exhibition ‘I meg finnes du’ is entering its final days at Telemark Kunstmuseum in Notodden, Norway, where it remains on view through Sunday, 23 August 2026. The presentation, which opened on 25 April, brings together large-scale wood sculptures, reliefs, textile assemblages, paintings and a poetry publication by the Norwegian artist.

The exhibition takes its title from Nervold Antonsen’s recent long poem, ‘I meg finnes du’, in which nature is described as the speaking presence. The poem moves through four seasons and addresses everyday experience alongside ecological timescales, conveying themes of love, resistance, grief and criticism of human political decisions and the management of nature.

According to Telemark Kunstmuseum, the exhibition examines the sense of powerlessness that can arise when economic and political choices damage the natural world. Rather than focusing on hopelessness, Nervold Antonsen turns to the force of nature through the physical properties of her materials. The museum describes the works and the poem as engaging with nature’s strength and power, as well as the relationship between humans and the natural world.

‘I meg finnes du’ extends the artist’s exhibition ‘Det bestandige’, which was shown at Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall earlier in 2026. That project explored differing understandings of nature, from something persistent and enduring to something perceived as eternal and stronger than humanity. The Telemark presentation continues this inquiry through a combination of sculptural, pictorial, textile and literary forms.

Nervold Antonsen has linked her artistic practice to being in and near nature on nature’s own terms, and to an understanding of humans and nature as part of a larger ecocentric power. The museum’s presentation also emphasises her interest in making work that, like human beings themselves, is not necessarily intended to last.

The exhibition opened with a speech by Norwegian entomologist and professor of nature and environmental protection Sigmund Hågvar. The opening programme also included a musical poetry reading of ‘I meg finnes du’ performed by Nervold Antonsen with the noise-rock duo Burning Motherfuckers and fiddler Even Tråen from Rollag. The event combined readings from the publication with the musicians’ sound world.

Telemark Kunstmuseum is one of the visitor sites operated by Norsk Industriarbeidermuseum, or NIA, in the Telemark region. ‘I meg finnes du’ is supported by Billedkunstnernes Vederlagsfond, Kulturrådet and the Ingerid, Synnøve and Elias Fegerstens stiftelse for norske bildende kunstnere. The exhibition is scheduled to end at the museum on 23 August.
