The Kestner Gesellschaft will open Min Yoon’s solo exhibition ‘A Pronoun of B’ in Hannover on Friday, August 28, 2026. The opening is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the institution’s premises at Goseriede 11, with a guided exhibition tour planned for 8:30 p.m. Admission to the opening is free.
The exhibition is being curated by Eva Birkenstock, director of the Kestner Gesellschaft. The institution’s announcement gives no closing date for ‘A Pronoun of B’, so the exhibition’s full run has not been specified. The Kestner Gesellschaft is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays until 8 p.m.; it is closed on Mondays.
The opening programme begins with welcome remarks by Heidelinde Gerhold, chairwoman of the Kestner Gesellschaft; Corinna Fischer, head of the culture department at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture; Monica Plate, deputy mayor of Hannover; Birkenstock; and Alexander Wilmschen, curator of a separate exhibition opening that evening. A tour of the exhibitions will follow, led by Gabriele Sand, an art educator.
A public conversation with Min Yoon and Manuela Ammer, curator at mumok, is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at 11 a.m. Birkenstock will welcome participants. According to the Kestner Gesellschaft, the discussion will address Yoon’s exhibition and the artist’s working methods over the past several years. The talk will be held in English and will follow a light breakfast organised in cooperation with Bäcker Göing.
The opening takes place alongside Karimah Ashadu’s separate solo exhibition ‘Crystalline’, which is also being inaugurated at the Kestner Gesellschaft on August 28. Ashadu’s exhibition is curated by Alexander Wilmschen. The joint opening programme includes music by Broncos and refreshments from Lieblingsbar, while a children’s opening reception, ‘Zollstock-Kunst & Wasserwellen’, is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. for families with children aged three and older. No registration is required for that family event, and admission is free.
The Kestner Gesellschaft’s published programme lists a further artist talk with Ashadu for November 13, 2026, at 6 p.m.; that event relates to ‘Crystalline’ rather than to Yoon’s exhibition. For ‘A Pronoun of B’, the confirmed public dates are the opening on August 28 at 7 p.m. and the artist talk with Min Yoon and Manuela Ammer on August 29 at 11 a.m.
