Museum reopening

The University of Michigan Museum of Art will reopen Alumni Memorial Hall on October 10–11, 2026, following an eight-month renovation and a special celebration.

The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham is preparing a new display for Jean (Hans) Arp’s 1958 bronze sculpture ‘Homme vu par une fleur’, as the University of Birmingham gallery works towards reopening its transformed spaces.

Kumamoto Prefectural Museum of Art will reopen on August 5 after a temporary closure caused by the earthquake that struck on July 28, the museum said in an announcement posted August 3.

Yokosuka Museum of Art has announced a reopening programme built around a mix of public events, including an annual outdoor cinema party, special museum talks and workshops.
