The Okura Museum of Art in Tokyo is showing a 14th-century painting of the Buddha’s parinirvana in ‘Beauty of prayer and relief: Meeting with the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra Riding an Elephant (National treasure)’, an exhibition of Buddhist art drawn from the museum’s own holdings that runs from 28 July to 27 September 2026.
