The Metropolitan Museum of Art will present a curator talk on 'Giacometti in the Temple of Dendur' on Tuesday, July 14, from 3 to 4 pm, in the Bonnie J. Sacerdote Lecture Hall at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York. The free program requires advance registration and has limited space, with places available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The session is designed as a collaborative exploration of the exhibition 'Giacometti in the Temple of Dendur', bringing together two Met curators: Stephanie D'Alessandro, Leonard A. Lauder Curator of Modern Art and Senior Research Coordinator in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Aude Semat, Associate Curator in the Department of Egyptian Art. According to the museum, the talk will focus on how Giacometti's figures enter into dialogue with ancient Egyptian civilization within the exhibition setting.

The exhibition is co-organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Fondation Giacometti in Paris, and it is made possible by the Kate W. Cassidy Foundation. The museum says the project brings together, for the first time at The Met, the work of Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966) in one of New York's most iconic spaces.

The program description highlights Giacometti's figures, which stand alone or in groups on the temple platform. That arrangement places one of the major sculptors of the 20th century in conversation with the ancient civilization that strongly influenced his art and practice.

The talk is listed as being presented in conjunction with the exhibition 'Giacometti in the Temple of Dendur'. The Met notes that assistive listening devices are available from ushers, and it directs attendees to its visitor guidelines for further information.

The event page places the talk at the Bonnie J. Sacerdote Lecture Hall, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education, at The Met Fifth Avenue, 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10028.
