The Yamatane Museum of Art has announced ‘The Best of the Yamatane Collection I: From Yokoyama Taikan and Takeuchi Seihō to Uemura Shōen and Hayami Gyoshū,’ the third special exhibition in its programme marking the institution’s 60th anniversary. The exhibition is scheduled to open on October 10, 2026.
The announcement identifies the presentation as a selection of notable works from the Yamatane collection. It names four artists in the title: Yokoyama Taikan, Takeuchi Seihō, Uemura Shōen and Hayami Gyushū. The museum’s announcement does not provide individual artwork titles, a checklist, or further information about the works that will be shown.
The exhibition is presented as the third instalment of the Yamatane Museum of Art’s 60th-anniversary exhibition programme. Its title frames the project around highlights from the museum’s holdings, while the use of ‘I’ indicates that the presentation belongs to a larger sequence or series. The announcement does not specify the themes or scope of any subsequent instalments.
Yokoyama Taikan, Takeuchi Seihō, Uemura Shōen and Hayami Gyushū are the artists explicitly associated with the exhibition in the museum’s advance notice. No additional biographical information, curatorial statement or interpretive framework was included in the announcement.
The museum has not yet provided an end date for the exhibition in the available information. Further details about the display, accompanying programmes, admission and opening hours were also not included. The announced opening date is October 10, 2026.
