‘The World of Picture Books—Encountering and Connecting Across the World from Bratislava’ will run from November 14, 2026, to January 24, 2027, at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art’s Exhibition Rooms B-2 and B-3.

It also describes the ephemeral appearance of a mushroom whose umbrella seems to melt away overnight, alongside decoration depicting fallen leaves.

The exhibition commemorates Mel Chin’s receipt of the 12th Hiroshima Art Prize. A free mini-exhibition presents a screening of Mel Chin’s '9-11/9-11'.

The Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum and Hiroshima Museum of Art have jointly planned the exhibition as their first special exhibition together.

The Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art will present ‘Chieo Senzaki: Toward the Depths of the Gaze’, an exhibition of approximately 100 works by the Hiroshima-born artist, including new pieces.
