Forward Gallery in Birmingham will open an exhibition of work by Morgan Howell, also known as Supersize Art, on 15 August at 10am. The gallery says it is bringing a carefully curated selection of Howell’s wall sculptures and silkscreen editions to Birmingham for the first time in more than a decade, with the presentation framed around the relationship between art, music and cutting-edge design.
The announcement comes from Forward Gallery, a Birmingham-based commercial gallery on Cannon Street. In its email notice, the gallery said the exhibition has been developed in collaboration with its music showcase partners and will include immersive displays and exclusive collaborations. The gallery also said the event is intended to appeal to collectors as well as music lovers and design enthusiasts, though the core focus remains Howell’s editions and sculptural works.
According to the gallery’s material, the exhibition will include examples from several strands of Howell’s practice: oversize editions, supersize editions, silkscreen editions and original works. The online preview material describes the works as 3D constructions combining elements such as acrylic on canvas, 27-inch vinyl discs, printed fine art paper labels and painted labels. The selection also includes signed, stamped and numbered editions, as well as unique original pieces.
Forward Gallery’s preview pages identify multiple works by title, including ‘Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love’, ‘The Beatles - I Want To Hold Your Hand’, ‘Black Sabbath - Paranoid’, ‘Echo and The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon’, ‘David Bowie - Rebel Rebel’ and ‘Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar’. The gallery’s product pages give sizes and edition details for the individual works, including 41 x 41 cm oversize pieces, 81 x 81 cm supersize wall sculptures and 100 x 100 cm silkscreens. Prices listed on the site range from £750 for the oversize editions to £15,000 for original works.
The gallery says Howell will be in the space from 11am until 3pm on opening day, when visitors will also be able to watch a live construction demonstration of his artwork. The email announcement describes the demonstration as a chance to see the unique nature of each piece, reflecting the construction-based character of the artist’s wall sculptures. The gallery also notes that selected works can be viewed through online catalogues.
Those catalogues are being offered in three volumes, with the gallery inviting visitors to request the full online preview set by email. Forward Gallery says Volume I and Volume II cover the oversize and original works, while Volume III covers the silkscreen collection. The gallery’s materials also name RPM Analogue Audio and TUNETABLES among the exhibition collaborators.
The exhibition begins on Saturday 15 August 2026 at Forward Gallery, 6 Cannon Street, Birmingham, and the gallery’s announcement presents it as a sale exhibition alongside the in-person launch and online catalogue preview.
