teamLab’s immersive museum project 'teamLab Borderless Jeddah' is on view at Culture Square in the Jeddah Historic District, according to the collective’s official exhibition page. The venue is presented as a permanent installation beginning June 10, 2024, and the site describes it as a borderless world of interactive artworks that move beyond fixed rooms, relate to one another, and intermingle across the space.
The project extends teamLab’s long-running ‘Borderless’ concept, which the group describes as a museum without a map and a continuous world without boundaries. On the exhibition page, teamLab says visitors are meant to wander, explore with intention and create a world with others, with artworks that “move out of rooms” and “influence each other.” The organization behind the project is the international art collective teamLab, whose practice is centered on the intersection of art, science, technology and the natural world.
The Jeddah presentation includes several named sections and artworks spanning the collective’s familiar digital environments. The page lists areas such as 'Borderless World', 'Light Sculpture', 'Athletics Forest', 'Future Park', 'Forest of Lamps', 'EN TEA HOUSE' and 'Sketch Factory'. teamLab’s description frames the work as an environment to be experienced physically. The collective also notes that there are no artwork captions inside teamLab Borderless, because the works move across spaces, and visitors are encouraged to use the app to read the concept of the work closest to them.
