teamLab has posted details for 'teamLab Biovortex Kyoto', a permanent presentation in Kyoto that opened on Oct. 7, 2025. The artist collective’s website lists the venue as teamLab Biovortex Kyoto and describes the project as part of its ongoing work exploring perception, continuity and the relationship between self and world through immersive digital environments.
The new Kyoto listing comes from teamLab, an international art collective founded in 2001. On its site, the group says it works across art, science, technology and the natural world, bringing together artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects. It also frames its practice around the idea that people tend to divide the world into separate entities, while teamLab seeks to transcend such boundaries and emphasize a “long, fragile yet miraculous, borderless continuity.”
The Kyoto project is presented as a permanent venue rather than a limited-run exhibition. The site currently notes that one artwork, 'Living Crystallized Light', is closed for maintenance, while tickets are on sale. Visitors are directed to the venue’s official ticketing website and to KLOOK as the only official sales channels named on the page.
The venue’s public listing shows a broad range of works across teamLab’s familiar immersive vocabulary. Among the titled pieces named on the site are 'Morphing Continuum', 'Massless Amorphous Sculpture', 'Massless Suns and Dark Suns', 'Resonating Microcosms - Solidified Light', 'Megaliths in the Open Universe', 'Ephemeral Crystallized Rain', 'Sea of Solidified Light', 'The Eternal Universe of Words', 'Infinite Crystal World', 'Flowers and People, Cannot be Controlled but Live Together', 'Forest of Flow and Light', 'What a Loving, and Beautiful World' and 'Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as well'.
The Kyoto site also organizes activities into three named areas beyond the main art presentation: 'Athletics Forest', 'Future Park' and 'Sketch Factory'. 'Athletics Forest' is described as a physically challenging, high-dimensional space based on perceiving the world with the body; 'Future Park' is described as an educational project built around collaborative creativity; and 'Sketch Factory' turns drawings made in 'Graffiti Nature' and 'Sketch Ocean' into take-home goods such as badges, magnets, puzzles, hand towels, T-shirts, tote bags and papercraft.
According to the venue information, 'teamLab Biovortex Kyoto' is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last entry at 7:30 p.m., though hours are subject to change. The listing also says Sketch Factory operates from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with extended hours during Aug. 1-15.
The Kyoto address is listed as 21-5 Higashikujo Higashi-Iwamotocho, Minami-ku, Kyoto, with access by train from Kyoto Station’s Hachijo East Gate or from Shichijo Station on the Keihan Line.
