Ōtsuka Museum of Art in Naruto will feature a seasonal display centered on Claude Monet’s 'Water Lilies' from June 1 to September 30, 2026. The museum says the outdoor presentation is timed to the summer blooming period, when the lilies in the garden area can be seen alongside the large-scale reproduction of Monet’s work in the museum’s outdoor exhibition space.
According to the museum’s website, the lilies begin to open in the morning and gradually close later in the day, with viewers advised to check weather conditions and the latest blooming status before visiting. The page notes that the flowers generally start blooming around June and that the best viewing period runs through summer into early autumn, when the pond surrounding the display is at its most active.
The museum’s presentation places Monet’s painting in a broader setting inspired by the artist’s garden at Giverny. The linked page explains that Monet moved to the French countryside of Giverny at age 43 and created a pond, a footbridge and planting areas with wisteria, willows, irises and water lilies. It also notes that Monet produced more than 200 works centered on the water lily motif.
Ōtsuka Museum of Art describes itself as a museum of ceramic reproduction paintings presenting life-size versions of Western masterpieces from 26 countries.
