Musée Rodin is opening its sculpture garden this week to a Dior haute couture installation titled “Grammaire des formes,” a temporary display created for Dior’s Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show. The installation runs from July 7 to July 12, 2026, at the museum’s garden in Paris, and is presented as an immersive environment linking sculpture, fashion, material and technique.

According to the museum’s announcement, the installation is designed to introduce visitors to the second haute couture collection by Jonathan Anderson for Dior. The project frames couture as a form of learning and mastery, describing dressmaking as a language with its own grammar, codes, techniques and savoir-faire. The museum says the work is set in the heart of the sculpture garden, making the site itself part of the exhibition’s meaning.

The Dior project is explicitly anchored in art-historical references. The museum states that Anderson drew inspiration both from Dior archives and from the work of the American sculptor Lynda Benglis, a major figure in U.S. art for more than 60 years. The museum highlights Benglis for sculptures often described as “gestures frozen,” which appear to suspend matter in motion. It also notes her use of a wide range of materials, from bronze, paper and wax to latex, foam and sequins, and connects that experimental practice to Dior’s interest in craft and construction.

Musée Rodin presents that dialogue as more than a visual comparison. In its own framing, haute couture and sculpture share an ability to give lasting form to movement, with clothing only fully revealed when worn, much as sculpture comes into its own through its material presence. The museum says Anderson reflects this idea through recurring gestures and techniques including pleating, knotting, draping and embroidery. The installation’s title and concept therefore place emphasis on process, patience and craftsmanship rather than on finished spectacle alone.

Visitor information underscores the temporary and limited nature of the event. The installation is open from Tuesday, July 7 at 2 p.m. through Sunday, July 12, 2026. It is located in the Musée Rodin sculpture garden at 77 rue de Varenne in Paris’s 7th arrondissement. Access is included with a museum admission ticket, within the limits of available capacity, and advance online booking is recommended. The museum also says that access to the installation is not guaranteed by admission to the museum, since it is situated in the garden.

The museum will provide mediators to help visitors understand the installation. Hours are listed as 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 7, then 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Wednesday through Sunday, with last entry at 5:45 p.m. The museum also notes that a structure in the sculpture garden makes part of the site inaccessible, while the works remain visible. The display arrives alongside access to the permanent collections in the Hôtel Biron and to L’Atelier Rodin, the museum’s family-oriented space devoted to sculpture through practice.

The collaboration matters because it places a global luxury house inside one of Paris’s most important sculpture settings and does so through the language of artistic making. Rather than treating fashion as a separate world, Musée Rodin is using its garden to stage a public conversation between couture and contemporary sculpture, with Benglis as a critical reference point. In an art world where cross-disciplinary projects are increasingly common, the installation stands out for making technique, material and authorship the core of the encounter.
