The Institut Valencià de Cultura has set out a late-July and August 2026 programme spanning music, film and performing arts in Valencia and Castellón. According to the institution’s listings, the schedule includes the 31st Festival de Música Antiga i Barroca de Peníscola, the summer film programme Filmoteca d’Estiu in Valencia, and the 2026 edition of Sagunt a Escena.
The calendar opens on 31 July with the Festival de Música Antiga i Barroca de Peníscola, which is listed on the IVC site as running at the Palau de Congressos de Peníscola from 24 July to 2 August 2026. The same date also marks an IVC concert entry in Castellón: ‘Armonía Eclíptica’ is scheduled for 31 July 2026 at the Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló, with invitations available, according to the programme page.
Film remains a parallel strand of the IVC summer offer. The site lists two Filmoteca d’Estiu programmes in Valencia beginning on 31 July 2026. ‘Filmoteca d’Estiu 2026: Un riu de cinema’ is scheduled to run until 29 August, while ‘Filmoteca d’Estiu 2026: Top crítica i festivals 2025’ is listed until 28 August. A related item on the site notes that the Filmoteca d’Estiu will project ‘La noche del cazador’ on 31 July.
In Sagunt, the institution’s programme shows ‘Sagunt a Escena 2026’ taking place from 1 to 23 August 2026. The festival is part of the IVC’s broader arts programme, alongside other listed initiatives in theatre, dance, cinema and music. The online agenda presents the Sagunt dates separately from the Valencia film screenings and the Peníscola music festival, underscoring the spread of IVC activity across the region over the same period.
The IVC also used the same public-facing update to announce a selection process for its Director General position, with an application deadline of 14 August 2026. That call appears alongside the cultural listings on the institution’s homepage and in its news feed, but it is a separate administrative notice rather than part of the performance and screening schedule.
Taken together, the listings show a concentrated end-of-July and August season for the regional cultural body, with early dates clustered around Peníscola, Castellón and Valencia and a separate run of events in Sagunt extending through most of August. The museum and institution’s website groups the announcements under its general programming and news sections, reflecting the breadth of IVC’s summer calendar.
