Fondation Pierre Gianadda will offer a children’s art workshop on July 31, 2026, bringing young visitors into direct contact with its exhibition ‘Rodin selon Rilke’ through guided looking and creative writing. The session is aimed at children and young people aged 8 to 16, and runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the foundation in Martigny, Switzerland.
The workshop begins with a guided visit to the exhibition, which is presented as a new show organized by the Musée Rodin in Paris. According to the foundation’s announcement, participants will look for sculptures that spark their imagination and then respond to what they have seen through writing exercises. The session is framed around the figure of Rainer Maria Rilke, the poet whose reflections on Auguste Rodin’s work form the basis of the exhibition’s title.
Florent Morisod, a Valaisan poet, slammer and author, will take part as a guest contributor alongside Elisa Thétaz, an art historian and cultural mediator. The foundation says Morisod will help children observe, feel and put their impressions into words, drawing on his experience of writing workshops and on his practice of linking words with other art forms.
The programme is presented as a summer-holiday activity and is described by the foundation as both playful and sensitive in approach. Children will choose one or more sculptures that “awaken” their imagination and use those works as prompts for creative writing. The announcement says all materials will be provided, and a snack will be offered at the end of the workshop.
Practical details are specific: the session is reserved for children and young people aged 8 to 16, participation costs CHF 15, and advance registration is required because places are limited. Participants are asked to arrive at 1:50 p.m. at the reception of the Fondation Pierre Gianadda. The foundation’s announcement also notes that the museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The exhibition context is central to the workshop, but the event itself is a stand-alone educational activity rather than a separate exhibition opening. The foundation identifies the museum show as ‘Rodin selon Rilke’ and says the workshop is designed to give accompanying adults time to visit the exhibition while the children take part in the writing session. The workshop is scheduled for Friday, July 31, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Rue du Forum 59, 1920 Martigny.
