Museo ItaloAmericano will present a screening of 'Heart’s Delight – An Orchard Story' on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 3:30 PM, followed by a Q&A with Marilyn Messina. The event is scheduled to run until 5:30 PM at Museo ItaloAmericano in San Francisco, according to the museum’s newsletter.
The documentary looks back at the agricultural history of Santa Clara County and the communities that shaped what was once known as the Valley of Heart’s Delight. The museum describes the film as following Sicilian immigrant Stefano Messina and generations of orchard families who helped shape the valley before Silicon Valley transformed the landscape.
The screening is presented by Marilyn Messina, and the newsletter says the film uses rare stories, personal memories and imagery to capture the orchards, blossoms and communities that defined the region. The program will give audiences a chance to see the documentary and then hear Messina discuss how it was made.
Museo ItaloAmericano, based at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, regularly serves as a cultural institution focused on Italian and Italian American heritage. In this case, the museum is hosting a film event that ties local California history to Italian immigrant experience, while centering a family story connected to the orchard economy that preceded the area’s later tech-driven identity.
The event announcement also notes that light refreshments will be served. Support for the screening comes from Ken Borelli and the Italian American Heritage Foundation of San Jose, CA.
The museum’s listing identifies the program as 'Heart’s Delight – An Orchard Story' and places it at Museo ItaloAmericano on August 2, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
