The Lewis Glucksman Gallery in Cork is presenting 'Selected Works from the UCC Art Collection', an exhibition drawn from University College Cork’s art holdings and continuing until 1 November 2026. According to the gallery, the display brings together contemporary Irish artworks, including a series of new commissions and acquisitions, and is organised around themes of health and wellbeing, climate action and sustainability, and equality, diversity and inclusion.
The exhibition is listed on The Glucksman’s website as being on view in the gallery’s spaces from 23 May to 1 November 2026, while the newsletter announcement identifies it as one of the venue’s current summer exhibitions. The gallery’s online listing describes the project as an invitation to “explore the UCC Art Collection here at the Glucksman,” and states that admission is free, with a suggested donation of €5. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm.
The UCC Art Collection itself is presented by The Glucksman as a modern and contemporary Irish art collection that is sited across the University College Cork campus and made accessible to students, staff and visitors. On its collection page, the gallery says it provides professional care and development for the collection in accordance with the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland. It also notes that the collection functions as a teaching and research resource as well as a public one.
'Selected Works from the UCC Art Collection' is the latest public-facing presentation of that campus collection to foreground a set of contemporary social concerns. The gallery’s exhibition text says the works address health and wellbeing, climate action and sustainability, and equality, diversity and inclusion. That framing places the exhibition within a broader programme at The Glucksman that is using current shows to engage visitors with questions of care, environment and social responsibility through Irish art.
The exhibition is running alongside 'Panorama Europa', another current Glucksman show featuring ten Irish artists and curated by Fiona Kearney and Katie O’Grady. The newsletter says both exhibitions are continuing across the gallery spaces, with associated events intended to further explore their themes. While the two projects are distinct, they share a concern with how artists draw on inherited visual traditions and contemporary issues to shape new forms of representation.
The collection display also comes against the background of a large-scale review of the UCC Art Collection being carried out in the gallery’s Sisk galleries, according to the newsletter. That review is being led by Meadhbh Healy, the gallery’s Albers Curator of Collections + Public Engagement, and includes work on artwork interpretation, documentation, photography, conservation needs and the visibility of the collection. The gallery says the process supports its ongoing commitment to the professional care and management of the collection.
