Pace Prints will open 'Spell It Out', a group exhibition of editions, monoprints, collages and handmade paper works on July 24 at 536 West 22nd Street in New York. The show runs through August 28, 2026, and brings together a multi-generational roster of artists whose printed works use text and language as a visual and conceptual device.

According to the gallery, the exhibition focuses on the ways artists use words to add context, sharpen imagery, introduce humor or make political commentary. Pace Prints says the inclusion of text often encourages viewers to see familiar signifiers in a new way, with the works ranging from poetic and humorous approaches to more directly political ones.

The roster named by the gallery includes John Chamberlain, Shepard Fairey, Robert Gober, Friedrich Kunath, Spencer Lewis, Jake Longstreth, Erik Parker, Kiki Smith, Adam Pendleton, John Loring, Elliott Hundley, Peter Saul, Jenny Holzer, Nina Chanel Abney, Jane Hammond, Christopher Wool, Julian Schnabel and Pat Phillips. The exhibition is described as a selection of significant works rather than a single-artist survey, and Pace Prints places it within its main gallery space at 536 West 22nd Street.

The announcement comes from a gallery long identified with prints and artist editions. Pace Prints describes itself as a leading publisher and gallery of fine art prints and artist editions, and its website lists the main gallery at the West 22nd Street address, where summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery also notes that 'Spell It Out' will be on view in its Main Gallery.

The exhibition follows Pace Prints’ recent presentation of 'Jean Dubuffet', which ran from June 11 to July 16 at the same address and focused on prints produced throughout the 1970s. That earlier show highlighted Dubuffet’s use of traditional and innovative screenprinting techniques, including portfolios and series such as 'Présences Fugaces', 'Fables', 'Faits Mémorables' and 'Site de Mémoire I-III'.

'Spell It Out' also arrives amid wider attention to prints and editions in the art market. In a recent Observer article linked by Pace Prints, the gallery was cited as part of a broader expansion in editions programs and print-focused spaces. Pace Prints itself is also preparing a separate expansion in Los Angeles later in 2026, according to that report, while the New York program continues to pair exhibitions with online releases and editions activity.

For the summer show, the gallery has illustrated the announcement with details from works by Jenny Holzer, Spencer Lewis, Erik Parker and Kiki Smith, alongside an installation view from the Dubuffet exhibition. The exhibition will be on view July 24 to August 28, 2026 at 536 West 22nd Street in New York.
