Rosalía Soneira Named in #LaObraDelDía

An Argentine museum has announced the death of painter Carlos Bissolino. The announcement described Bissolino as a leading figure in contemporary Argentine painting.

The #LaObraDelDía post features Guillermo Kuitca’s ‘La consagración de la primavera’ from 1983.

Dated 1887, the painting is described as the first avant-garde painting in Argentine art. Eduardo Sívori, identified as an artist and teacher, was born in Buenos Aires in 1847.

Joaquín Sorolla, the Valencian painter, painted ‘Componiendo la red’ in 1902. The painting depicts a preindustrial costumbrista scene, with a marine landscape in the background.
