The Cartoon Art Museum has announced the return of its 'Sketch-a-thon @ Home' fundraising event, set to run from July 22 to 26, 2026. The online initiative invites donors to request sketch rewards from a roster of volunteer cartoonists, with proceeds supporting the museum’s programs and exhibitions. According to the museum, the annual fundraiser will feature dozens of artists offering drawings in exchange for contributions.
The event is presented by the Cartoon Art Museum, an institution based at 781 Beach Street in San Francisco that describes itself as dedicated to cartoon art in many forms, from early comic strips to contemporary digital work. In the museum’s current exhibitions calendar, the fundraiser appears alongside a range of programming that includes exhibitions, workshops and store offerings. The museum’s website also notes that it keeps an ever-changing exhibition schedule and regularly mounts major exhibitions, pop-ups and special spotlights.
This year’s 'Sketch-a-thon @ Home' is being held in conjunction with San Diego Comic-Con International, but the museum makes clear that the program itself will take place online. The event page says that donors who cannot make it to Comic-Con can still participate through the museum’s website once the event launches. Sketches will not be activated until the event begins, and participants will choose from a list of artists when the fundraiser goes live.
The museum says the sketch offerings will be tiered, with donations ranging from $25 to $500. Listed options include a $25 standard sketch in black and white with one character, a $50 premium sketch in color or with two characters, and deluxe tiers beginning at $75 to $100 for special guest artists, with some special deluxe requests priced at $100 and up. The page also notes that some artists may offer different price points to support the museum and that each artist will have different availability, with some sketches available digitally only.
Among the artists named on the event page are Jeffrey Brown, known for 'Darth Vader and Son,' Gary Amaro, associated with 'Sandman,' and Judd Winick, creator of 'Hilo.' The roster also includes Mark Badger, whose credits listed on the museum site include 'Batman' and 'Dr. Strange,' Michael Jantze, known for 'The Norm' and 'Mr. Lux,' and Alexis Fajardo, creator of 'Kid Beowulf,' among many others. The museum describes the fundraiser as a chance for cartoonists from across careers and styles to volunteer their time and talents.
The event page says sketches are completed when artists are able to do so, with a typical turnaround of two weeks to a month, though some may take longer depending on schedules. The museum notes that it typically receives hundreds of requests, and tracking information is sent when a sketch is ready to be mailed. Images are not authorized for reproduction without permission from the artist. The 'Sketch-a-thon @ Home' runs July 22-26, 2026.
