Liam Everett’s first show with Berggruen Gallery presents a series of new paintings in which the artist explores the scientific nature of light. 'The Passenger' is listed as a current exhibition running from September 10 through October 29, 2026.

The exhibition is inspired by Everett’s research on quantum biology and his interest in “how light lives inside us,” while considering the relationship between ultraviolet light, photons and physiology.

The works range from small to large scale and use ink, oil, sand and wood ash on linen; 'Untitled (piezo effect)' is a 2026 work that uses the same materials.

The exhibition also reflects on consciousness and the question of “who is the passenger” residing in our mortal coil. Its works engage cosmic themes and the specific quality of Northern California light.

A Liam Everett studio visit associated with 'The Passenger' is dated August 21, 2026.
