Rye Art Gallery will host a preview on Saturday 24 October from 11:00 to 13:00, including a special feature of paintings and drawings by Joan Eardley on loan from a private collection. The gallery is located at 107 High St, Rye, TN31 7JE, UK.
Natasha has completed a new series of paintings that takes in the Catterline landscapes. The paintings reflect on the land and sea where Eardley lived and worked.
Cooke’s oil paintings are rooted in her fascination with the landscape surrounding her home in Weald, Kent. That process requires her to look, feel and listen as she studies the character of the landscape.
Cooke describes her aim as painting not only the scenery but also what she calls the ‘language of the landscape’.
