A screening titled ‘At the Vanishing Point’ will be held on 25 October 2026. The programme is scheduled from 14:00 to 16:00.

It brings together six selected works under the theme of films that write or record bodily movement through methods distinct from language. The screening will take place in the B1-floor auditorium.

The programme frames dance as an art that exists at an eternal vanishing point, disappearing at the moment it is created despite the years of dancers’ studio training, choreographers’ planning, rehearsals, and the coordination of designers, composers and technicians, as well as fundraising and gathering an audience. At the same time, it considers how the work may be transformed into memory through the audience’s experience and converted into records such as video and text, allowing it to connect with the past and future in another form.

The first work is a record of an outdoor dance photography session involving Choi Seunghee, who was called the ‘Dancing Beauty of the Peninsula.’ The selection includes Pina Bausch’s ‘Café Müller—A film of a piece by Pina Bausch,’ a work made in 1978 that documents a performance from 1985. It also includes Gordon Matta-Clark’s ‘Day’s End,’ made in 1975.

The programme’s materials further describe a record of a 2011 performance on the coast of the Mexico–United States border region, in which a fence was painted and a gesture erased the boundary between the sky and sea in the background.
