Around 1864, Gallé appears to have worked on designs as his father’s collaborator.
Many works from this period were tableware based on emblems associated with Gallé’s native Lorraine region, as well as proverbs and fables.
The early works offer a glimpse of Gallé inheriting his father’s traditional aesthetic while incorporating his own interests.
