O'Reilly is known for expressive bronze sculptures in which humor and playfulness are combined with philosophical ideas and personal experience. His sculptures use bears, dogs and other animals to represent human emotions and experiences. The works address strength and vulnerability, courage and doubt, loneliness and community, while combining playfulness with seriousness.
