Enitharmon Editions sets July summer sale of artist’s books and prints at the Rear Barn Image: Enitharmon Editions, London

Enitharmon Editions is marking July 2026 with a Rear Barn sale of artist’s books, prints and editions, drawing on stock that the publisher says has been stored there. The online catalogue presents a mix of signed prints, artist’s books and literary editions by figures including Sir Peter Blake, Norman Ackroyd, Simon Armitage and Tony Bevan, with the sale running throughout July at what the email identifies as the Rear Barn Sale in London.

The sale announcement frames the event as a clear-out before “the office door closes for the last time,” and says some titles are appearing again because Enitharmon has several copies of them. According to the email, prices have been kept “extremely competitive” to encourage brisk sales. Buyers are also promised a complimentary copy of David Gascoyne’s 'Anniversary Epistle to Allen Ginsberg', a chapbook published in 2016 to mark Gascoyne’s centenary.

Enquiries and reservations are being handled by email, with buyers asked to send the catalogue number, title and address to stephen@enitharmon.co.uk. Payment is then processed by invoice from a colleague named Jodi, with postage added at cost. That practical, direct approach suits the sale’s format: the emphasis is on available stock, clear item descriptions and fixed prices rather than a single exhibition-style display.

Among the highlighted works is Norman Ackroyd and Kevin Crossley-Holland’s 'Moored Man', a 2006 artist’s book illustrated throughout by watercolours and etchings by the late Norman Ackroyd. The catalogue note describes the book as a collaboration that sold out soon after publication, and says the distributor later found a box of regular copies missing from inventory. Simon Armitage’s 'Still' is also offered; the 2016 hardback brings together poems written in response to panoramic photographs of Battle of the Somme battlefields from the Imperial War Museum archives, and was co-published with the museum.

The list also includes Tony Bevan’s 'Violet Interior', a framed etching signed and numbered 1/75, and several Sir Peter Blake editions. These include 'Venice Fantasies', a 2009 artist’s book that the catalogue links to Blake’s return to Venice in 2007, and 'Paris Escapades', available in both regular and de luxe forms. The latter de luxe copy is described as hand-bound, signed and numbered, housed in a cherry-coloured solander box with the loose-leaf original print 'Shooting Stars' laid into a wallet.

Further Blake items come from the 'Under Milk Wood' portfolio of 2013, including the prints 'The Boys are Dreaming Wicked' and 'Mae Rose-Cottage Draws Circles', each signed and numbered 26/50. Other lots range from Glenn Brown, Michael Bracewell and Lavinia Greenlaw’s 'Joy Division' to a portfolio of three prints from the 'Bugs' set by Anya Gallaccio, Brad Lochore and Kathy Prendergast. The sale also includes a mixed selection of paperbacks and several seasonal titles, among them U.A. Fanthorpe’s 'Christmas Poems' and Kevin Crossley-Holland and Lawrence Sail’s 'Light Unlocked: Christmas Card Poems'.
