Julio Le Parc’s exhibition 'Light. Colour. Action.' runs until 3 May 2027.
The exhibition spans Le Parc’s career from the late 1950s to the 2020s, bringing together interactive installations, shimmering light sculptures and large-scale geometric paintings. Le Parc wanted viewers to feel active, with their acts of looking and experiencing bringing each artwork to life, and to make art that everyone could easily enjoy.
He is best known for pioneering kinetic sculptures that use light, movement and mirrored surfaces to surprise and draw in the viewer. The exhibition also includes canvases and works on paper experimenting with colour combinations and dynamic visual effects.
Born in Argentina in 1928, Le Parc moved to France in 1958, settled there and participated in the artistic scene of 1960s Paris while maintaining strong connections to Latin America.
